You may not know this, but I regularly call the orphanages and ask the children to pray for special needs or for donors who have contacted us for prayer. Last year I decided that the children needed more than a verbal “ask” from leadership to pray.
The orphanages now have a simple cork board where prayer requests for India’s needs and for the needs of our US donors are typed out regularly and posted on this board. One of the requests right now on all the boards is that we raise enough money to get Hope Packs (book bags, uniforms and school supplies) for every orphan before the end of June. Since our school year starts the first of July and ends in April, we need the supplies by June at the latest.
When I share in churches about fervent and effectual prayers, I remind them to be specific and to not give up until God answers. I wanted to make sure that the children understand this about prayer early on. The prayer board is a physical reminder of requests for needs, but also for opportunities to praise God due to answered prayer.
Each child goes by the board weekly and writes in his/her journal what they will commit to praying for that week. Most of these children have not learned to be arrogant or prideful spiritually. I ask them to pray for you and for the ministry because I know they are praying with all their hearts and praying in earnest. I know without a doubt that those prayers are reaching the Father’s throne. We adults could learn much from watching and listening to a child pray.
Please join me along with the children as we pray for hearts God touches to respond for our need to provide all the children with a Hope Pack ($50) this year. Let’s pray that these hearts respond quickly. You and I might be late or tardy sometimes in responding to God, but He is always on time for us. I ask that you please listen for His leading when you pray for the children’s Hope Pack provision for this school year.
Thank you for your continued prayer and financial giving! It is how we are able to continue a mission that touches the tender heart of God.
