Hope Chest Web Appeal
Greetings in Jesus name!
“…he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth forever. …the wicked shall see it, and be grieved” (Psalm 112:9-10).
Don’t you love how Scripture reveals the personality of God? In this Psalm, God is encouraging us to give to the poor. But He is also sharing how our obedience to give will frustrate the enemy. I believe He wants us to rejoice because good frustrates evil! The enemy – and those who follow him on earth – does not want a single child rescued. Satan does not want an orphan to learn that there is a loving God! He doesn’t want that child to know they do have a family – a huge family of God – that is scattered all across the world. He doesn’t want the child to know that this family loves them and wants them to have three meals a day, sleep in a bed, have an education and know the love of God. We may complain that our world leaders don’t always have a strategy, but don’t be deceived! Satan always has a strategy. What is our edge in this battle? We know his strategy and we choose NOT to participate!
Every one of our Hope Homes will celebrate Christmas this year and every child will receive a Hope Chest. Our desire for the last six years is to fill every bag with:
A new outfit Toiletries
Socks and shoes A new Bible
A blanket A small toy/gift
We have not been able to include every item listed above in every Hope Chest due to the lack of funds. It takes $75 to supply the bag and all the contents above. The $75 for each of the 5000 orphans has yet to be raised,
Every child receives a Hope Chest with some of that list inside their bag. Every year staff – in the US and in India – prays that the word about these Hope Chests will get out far enough in advance that our loving donors can tell new people about this need. Are we encouraged? Yes! Because every year we do have new people come aboard. Eventually, we believe with all our hearts, that every child will receive every item on that list for Christmas!
Whether you are in a position to purchase several Hope Chests or you can share the cost of one Hope Chest with a friend, consider doing it now before the holiday season sets in and life gets busier than normal. We are deeply appreciative of any part of that $75 you can contribute.
