In many nations throughout Asia – where Hopegivers is at work – children and adults with disabilities are seen as cursed. Nearly 90% of these special needs children are either killed or abandoned by their parents at birth. Those who are not killed or abandoned are hidden away in their own homes, or are forced to beg on the streets. They are restricted from playing and from school. Their lives are void of any kind of normality.
At Hopegivers, we believe that every child is “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Though we don’t always know what His plan is, we believe wholeheartedly that the Lord has a purpose for every person. The Lord has called us to show love and bring His hope to all; regardless of caste, creed, or physical condition. We bring these children into the loving environment of our Hope Homes and shower them all with the love, education, and provision every child deserves. At the Hope Homes they are given a new family; one that loves them for who they are and one in which all take part in helping, teaching, and encouraging them. Though these children are spread throughout all of our Hope Homes in India, we thought it was necessary and appropriate to have a special Hope Home – the Khas Hope Home (“khas” is the local word for “special”) – so that they too can shine forth as the lights of the world the Lord created them to be!
You can help us bring help and hope to these children by Adopting the Khas Hope Home!
