Have you ever wondered why you are alive, and what purpose God has for you? Do you sometimes wonder if what you are doing is worthwhile? You may even wonder why your parents didn’t think longer before deciding to give birth to you?
If you have asked yourself these questions, you are among the majority of people. Many people fall into the trap of thinking little of themselves. We often play tapes in our head over and over again saying “I look stupid” or “I sound stupid.”
A beautiful young lady looks into the eyes of the one she loves and she asks, “Will you marry me?” The first thoughts that come into the young man’s mind are “She really doesn’t know me. She didn’t see the things I did in my teen years or she wouldn’t want to spend her life with me.”
The young man was reacting to his own insignificance, and insignificance gives birth to insecurity.
How do we protect ourselves from feeling insignificant? How do we protect ourselves from becoming insecure?
Listen to what God says about you:
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Accept the fact with humility that God has chosen YOU. Realize that God has gifted you with many messages through his Word as confirmation of his calling on your life.
“How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.” (Psalm 139:17-18)
You can stop wondering. You are God’s masterpiece. He loves you like a Mother loves her child, like a painter loves his creation. When someone puts you down remind yourself that you matter to God and you are NOT a mistake. He simply doesn’t make them.
