Imagine spending Christmas in a Hope Home in India. Many people including our Board Members have taken their families to enjoy the holidays by serving others. One of our Hope Homes in Rajasthan recounts what it’s like to be part of their Christmas celebration.
This Hope Home has 26 children and receiving the Hope Chest is the most exciting time of the year. Their aim is to bring smiles to the faces of children who have never had the chance of receiving gifts for themselves.
This past year the Hope Home was showered with gifts such as beautiful dresses, sweaters, undergarments, Chapstick, toothbrushes, plates, socks and towels.
The representatives from Hopegivers distributed the Hope Chests to the children with a program beginning with a worship song and prayer. All the children thanked God for taking care of them and making their life wonderful.
The children stood in a row and one by one their name was called. The Hope Chests were distributed and the children sat in a group and were finally allowed to open their gifts.
Abhishek, Rahul, Amit, Dewan, Kinu, Sanjay and Sushil had needed towels for a long time. Receiving towels in their bags helped fulfill their basic need.
Viktar, Prince, Mahesh, Mukesh, Patwari and Paul loved the sweaters they received since it was winter and very cold.
Daud, Rosan, Riteek, Vikas and Surju loved the pants and shirts which they received. These kids have also learned to give away their old clothes to whoever has a need.
Once again, the children prayed and thanked God for listening to their prayers and providing them with all their needs
